Our mission

To improve the world through education, action, and loving kindness.

Helping realize a moral, G‑dly world in which honesty, integrity, a sense of meaning and purpose, respect, responsibility for one another, knowledge, security, and peace prevail.

What we believe

Three convictions,
one open door.

Innate goodness

We recognize the innate goodness in humankind, and seek to inspire and empower all people to maximize their potential on life's journey — with joy, passion, and enthusiasm.

No labels, no waiting

We work with all denominations, cultures, and faiths — and reach out to help rather than wait to be called upon.

The spark within

Chabad of Venice & North Port is a spiritual health center: helping people tap into their own deep spiritual reservoir. We call it awakening the spark within.

How we do it

Awakening the spark,
step by step.

The journey begins with practical, personal steps — emotional, spiritual, and educational — through which Jewish practice becomes deeply relevant, meaningful, and easy to bring into daily life. Whole-person growth, at each person's own pace.

For adults

For adults

For children & teens

For children & teens

Mommy & Me, Hebrew School, Hebrew High, CTeen, Camp Gan Israel and the youth lounge — a strong, joyful, life-long foundation for growth.

For everyone

For everyone

Bar and bat mitzvahs, youth and teen clubs, camps, and social programming — the tools for every Jewish soul to experience the awakening of the spark within.

Thanks to our numerous and generous supporters, Chabad of Venice & North Port is able to educate, mentor, grow, heal, comfort, and give hope to countless people searching for a rich and meaningful life — starting with our surrounding Jewish communities, and carrying forth to all people in need of insight, until Moshiach is here.

The bigger picture

Part of a worldwide movement.

Simply put, Chabad's mission is to reach out to others with acts of goodness and kindness. 'Chabad' is a Hebrew acronym for Wisdom, Understanding and Knowledge — founded in 1772 by Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, promoting the mystical, traditional, legal and social principles of the Torah while using modern methods for education, outreach, and social services.

The work of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, is legendary — lifting the global Jewish community from the ashes of the Holocaust and launching an unprecedented range of Jewish institutions. Today, tens of thousands of the Rebbe's emissaries continue that mission of goodness, kindness, and G‑dliness around the globe.
