A week in the sukkah, the Four Kinds in hand, and a finale of dancing with the Torah — the happiest stretch of the Jewish year, celebrated together.
Sukkot is a weeklong Jewish holiday that comes five days after Yom Kippur. It celebrates the gathering of the harvest and commemorates the miraculous protection G‑d provided for the children of Israel when they left Egypt. We celebrate by dwelling in a foliage-covered booth (the sukkah) and by taking the "Four Kinds": a lulav, an etrog, myrtles, and willows.
