Chabad of Venice
The Volunteer Circle

Add more light today.

Often, it takes just minutes to change a person's entire week. The Volunteer Circle matches you with a senior who'd love a visit, a family who needs a Shabbat meal, or an event that needs your hands — with your help, no one in our community is left feeling alone.

A Volunteer Circle visit

Ways to help.

Smile on Seniors
Smile on Seniors

Our flagship program twins volunteers with a senior "buddy" for a weekly, monthly, or occasional visit. Many seniors living alone or in facilities simply need loving company — a visit, a story, a Torah thought, news of the upcoming holiday. We provide orientation, materials, and matching; you provide the smile.

  • Orientation at the facility before your first visit
  • Consistency is the magic — seniors look forward to you
  • Bring your kids! Seniors love the young company
  • Acute visits (a hospitalization, a hard week) welcome too

Smile on Seniors is dedicated in loving memory of Phyllis Balmat — לזכר נשמת פריידא בת בת שבע ז"ל

Loaves of Love
Loaves of Love

Freshly baked challah and warm meals, delivered with a knock and a smile — to seniors, mourners, the unwell, and the homebound. Everything is cooked and packed at Chabad; you pick it up and bring the warmth to their door.

  • Once a week, once a month, or "ask me"
  • Routes near you — tell us your drive limit
  • Chicken soup, challahs, and care packages provided
Events & Holidays

Chanukah at the park, the Purim Bash, the community Seder, Hebrew School, mailings, photography, setup crews — every gathering runs on volunteers. Tell us your strengths and we'll find your spot.

  • Setup, food, welcoming, photography, office help
  • Seasonal — help once a year or all year round
  • Teens earn volunteer (SSL) hours
