After the remarkable success of The Kabbalah of Meaning, which drew more than 100 students, Chabad of Venice is preparing to launch one of its most anticipated educational experiences yet: Journey of the Soul, a six-part exploration of what Jewish wisdom teaches about life beyond this world.

The Kabbalah of Meaning drew more than 100 students.
Some questions speak to every human being, regardless of background: Is there life after death? What happens to the soul when it leaves the body? What does Judaism say about the transition from this world to the next?
This new course, developed by the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute (JLI), opens a window into classical Jewish teachings — from Talmudic passages to mystical insight — that illuminate the soul’s origin, its mission in this world, and its journey afterward.
Many people today carry ideas about the afterlife that originate in popular culture or other belief systems. Journey of the Soul works to clarify misconceptions and present an authentic, uplifting Jewish perspective — one that is both comforting and intellectually enriching.
Far from being abstract philosophy, the course also addresses the emotional and practical dimensions of loss, mourning, grief, and memory. It offers a framework that helps participants understand not only what happens to the soul at each stage, but also how these teachings bring meaning to the life we live now.
Experts from psychology, neuroscience, and philosophy have praised the course for its integration of timeless Jewish wisdom with contemporary thought, calling it a uniquely rewarding educational experience.
Journey of the Soul begins Tuesday, January 20, at 12:30 PM, with lunch served at 12:00 PM. All six sessions take place at the Chabad of Venice and are open to the entire community.
The course is also available over Zoom, and all registered students receive the weekly video recording along with a full textbook.
