Something extraordinary is happening in Wellen Park this Chanukah.

For the very first time, the glow of the menorah will shine in this new and fast-growing community — a moment that’s both historic and deeply symbolic.

Over the past few years, Wellen Park has transformed from open land into one of Florida’s most vibrant new towns, home to neighborhoods like IslandWalk, Gran Paradiso, Renaissance, Avelina, Sunstone, and Brightmore. Thousands of families have already moved in, with more arriving every month — young parents with strollers, newly retired couples, and snowbirds looking to make Venice their second home.

And as the houses fill, new Jewish life is quietly taking root. Each month, we meet new faces — people eager to reconnect, to celebrate holidays, and to give their children a sense of belonging.

When they ask, “Is there a Jewish presence in Wellen Park?” — this Chanukah, we get to answer by lighting the menorah together in the center of town.

To mark this first-ever celebration, we’re welcoming a very special guest: Dr. Laz — educator, musician, and one of Jewish music’s most spirited performers.

For us, it’s more than an event. It’s a statement of light and continuity.

The menorah proclaims that the Jewish spirit belongs everywhere — not just in established cities or historic synagogues, but in new neighborhoods still finding their rhythm.

Its flames remind us that as our community expands, our light must expand with it.

Why Wellen Park matters

A city on the rise. Wellen Park spans nearly 11,000 acres and is planned for more than 22,000 homes — one of the fastest-growing master-planned communities in Florida.

New neighbors every month. Dozens of new Jewish families — from young couples to retirees — are moving in each month and seeking connection.

A first of many. This year marks the first public menorah lighting in Wellen Park — a milestone we hope will become an annual tradition, bringing light, music, and community to the heart of this growing city.
